How the DU NEP UGCF Structure Works
If you’re new to DU’s undergraduate structure, here’s the quick version:
- DSC (Discipline Specific Core): Compulsory papers in your main/honours subject — 3 papers per semester across Semesters 1–6, plus more in Semesters 7–8 for the 4-year Honours with Research track.
- DSE (Discipline Specific Elective): Optional papers within your own discipline, usually starting from Semester 3, where you choose from a pool offered by the department.
- GE (Generic Elective): Papers you take from a different discipline (your “minor”), also chosen from a pool.
- AEC / SEC / VAC: Ability Enhancement, Skill Enhancement, and Value-Added courses that run alongside your DSC/DSE/GE papers but carry separate, smaller credit weightage.
